lauren W. Ray

My creative practice is grounded in utility. I am interested in watching materials become objects someone will actually use. Bags, garments, plush creatures, and accessories all emerge from this impulse. I often work with reclaimed textiles-including exquisite upholstery samples that would otherwise be discarded. Transforming these scraps into functional items feels like an act of rescue: materials get a second live and what was trash becomes renaissance treasure.
