Using techniques learned from books, online tutorials and experiments, after cleaning the gourd and drawing a design, I incorporate carving, pyrography, use of ink dyes and more recently a touch of acrylic paint. i find inspiration in nature, animate and inanimate objects, pure imagination, and other crafters. I really love working with gourds, I am so glad I found this out.
