Ravin Lovett
I am a quilt artist and a art therapist whose work is rooted in Black history, ancestral knowledge, healing , and storytelling. Quilting, for me is both an artistic practice and a living archive—one that that honors the hands, voices, and survival stratages of those who came before us while creating space for reflection and restoration today.
My quilts explore themes of freedom, resilience, community, and memory, often drawing from African American textile traditions and the symbolic language embedded in quilts. I view quilts as carriers of coded histories, emotional truth, and cultural continuity.
